The George

After a period of uncertainty, The George pub is now under new management as a free house (previously Marstons). It has been operating for the last 18 months or so with a temporary tenant, offering hearty pub food (booking not essential). Dog and people friendly. Closed Mondays; open from midday on other days; closed 2.30pm-5.30pm and after 9pm Tues-Thurs; Fridays/Saturdays open midday – 2.30pm, then 5.30pm til late; Sundays midday – 7pm. The Watts Russell ArmsWATTS RUSSELL

Just down the hill at Hopedale, the Watts Russell (01335 310126) is open 12 – 9pm at weekends, and from 5 – 9pm weekdays except Thursday (closed all day).
