Vacancy for Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer

 The Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer is responsible to the 7-strong Parish Council. This is a part time (4 hours per week on average) paid position under Salary Scale LC2. The Parish Clerk will be required to work from home and have their own transport if not within the immediate area. Some evening and out of hours work is required. The full Council meets approximately every 6 weeks, although some ad hoc meetings may be required.

The successful candidate will be computer literate (including Word, Excel etc) and confident in using email and the Internet. Previous advantage of Local Government would be an advantage although training can be provided. A laptop will be provided specifically for Parish Council work.

The salary will be dependent upon experience and will comply with NALC pay scales.

  • The Post Office in the Village Hall is open on Mondays and Thursdays (12.15-14.15), Pilates (Mondays, Fridays), Friendship Group (Wednesdays) and Bowls (Tuesday and Friday).

  • Car boot sales re-started on Sunday 24 April and will run on the last Sunday of the month through to September.

Staffordshire Farm Watch

We’re all aware of the rise in rural crime, particularly within the farming sector. Staffordshire Police are working with local communities in the Moorlands area to tackle these issues and have set up a Facebook page to keep everyone up to date.
