This is the popular booklet which is available from The George Pub in the village, Polly’s Cottage at Milldale, or the Tea Junction at Hulme End. Alternatively it can be bought here in a down-loadable form. All profits from the sale of this booklet will be donated to local good causes or charities, to be determined by the Alstonefield Walking Group.
Current funds from walking book sales will be donated to the St. Peter’s Church Water Appeal.
There are eleven walks in the booklet, one of which is a village walk of about one hour’s duration (suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs). With the exception of Walk 7 (another short walk), we would describe our walks as moderate, with a few hills of course, each taking an average of 2.5 hours. The booklet contains the favourite short walks that we enjoy as a Group; the accompanying maps are hand-drawn and intended as a guide only.
The booklet was published in March 2005 and updated in April 2009 and in the period to May 2013, the Walking Group have raised over £8000 for local good causes, including St. Peter’s Church and First Responders.
