Palm Sunday Service in Kitchen
With near impossible access to the Church boiler and blizzard conditions outside (see above photo taken outside St. Peter’s), a decision was quickly made to move the Palm Sunday Communion Service to the warmth of our Churchwarden’s kitchen. Vicar Anne rose to the occasion with a very special service.
Some home or business premises’ improvements may qualify for a grant of up to £4000. Click HERE to see the Ashbourne Telegraph article for more information.
St Peter’s Church has a newly created burial and funeral policy.
If it doesn’t answer any of your questions, please ask one of the churchwardens, John or Carrie

Newspaper Group donates to local good causes
The Alstonefield Newspaper Club can supply any national newspaper or magazine to a collection point in the village. The newspapers are charged at face-value, but because the group is regarded as a retailer, the supplier gives a generous discount on all cash orders. In 2012, the Club was able to accrue a remarkable £600 of surplus funds! A vote was arranged amongst subscribers and the funds were allocated as follows:- Wetton and Alstonefield First Responders – £120; The Staffordshire Air Ambulance – £120; The Village Hall – £69; St Peter’s Church – £69 and £222 towards an overhaul of the church clock.
The more people who subscribe, the greater the end-of-year charity donation will be. More information, including how newspapers can be ordered can be found on the Newspaper Club webpage – CLICK HERE
