Sunday 22nd May 2011 – The Leaden Boot

A 26 mile challenge walk is being planned, starting and finishing at Alstonefield Village Hall.  The word, “challenge” is the key.  Not only is this a marathon distance, but it has over 5000 feet of ascent, which is more than the height of Ben Nevis!  This will be a big event, attracting walkers and some runners from all over Britain.  We will need plenty of help from local residents if it is to be successful.  But the rewards, which will be split between St Peter’s Church and the Village Hall, could be enormous.  Offers of help to Noel Peat, Brian Ross, Paul Binfield or Tony Spybey.  Look out for the new Leaden Boot website (under construction)
